If you live in the United States then yes, have her go to the local department of health and human resources, also known as the welfare office, and she can apply for a medicaid card to cover the pregnancy and the baby. When she goes she will need a proof of pregnancy, go to your local health department, planned parenthood, or other clinic and have them do a pregnancy test. They will be able to give her a paper that says she is pregnant and she can take that to the department of health and human resources office.

Well, I am in the same situation. My bf is currently looking for a job with benefits, you should too! For the time being, have her apply for medicaid and WIC. You apply for Medicaid at the Social Services office in town. She will need 2 months of pay stubs, her year to date, etc. (if she has a job). She will need the same for WIC (local health department), but it is better to do this after she applies for Medicaid. It can take up to a month to get her results. They will only look at her income. Once the baby is born, they will consider both of your incomes, that is why I say, find a job with insurance ASAP! Good luck to you both and congratulations!

I understand your situation, not all jobs offer insurance. Check with your local/state assistance. Go to planned parenthood, confirm the pregnancy and go our human service office. Medicaid is seldom denied if you have the pregnancy confirmation. They will give you information on the medical insurance as well as other assistance, such as food stamps and the WIC program. With medicaid she will be covered for all medical during pregnancy and i believe 2 months after delivery; and the baby will be covered i believe for the first year. Just check your governement office and go to the human and health service office.

If your girlfriend is over the age of 18, she should be able to qualify for medicaid. Call your local department for human services for more information. Also have your girlfriend get in touch to make an appointment with your local WIC(women infants and children) office.

Medicaid, Check it out at your local Department of Social Services. If you qualify your gf can be put on Medicaid while she is preg and then once baby is born it can be put on medicaid as well. Also check into WIC. Another program that if you qualify will provide milk, eggs, cheese, and the like to help make sure gf has adequate nutrition while she is preg.

If you have a job then buy insurance check online and you can find it pretty cheep.. If she goes on state help then you will have to pay it back and then some..If you can't afford a baby try protection... Why do tax payers have to pay for your baby?? Try getting a job that has insurance??? People need to stop relying on public assistance for the care of THEIR own KIDS...

I had a friend in that same situation. She signed up for some type of program with the hospital she was delivering at and only had to pay about $1000 for a few check-ups & delivery. Try your local Planned Parenthood. They will be able to tell her where to contact for no/low-income assistance.

get her on your insurance if you can, but since your not married depending on HER income, she may qualify for Pregnancy Medicaid. Go to your local WIC office and stuff. HTey can get her started. I know my husband couldnt get me oin his insurance until we were married, so it just depends on soem insurance companies. But there are definately other ways, like Pregnancy medicaid. Good Luck adn Congrats.

the state will have to give you medicaid for pregnant women and you cannot be refused care anywhere if you are pregnant it is against the law to refuse a pregnant woman care in the us.
go to you're local family services office and speak to them about you're options
