Although this nation was meant to give us religious freedoms - it was also a nation founded on Christian principles. Liberals seem to dislike much of what America stands for. Anti-Americans should think about residing in another country.

I don't.
I am Liberal, and Christian. I go to church every Sunday, and belong to the church as a member.
And you obviously haven't been looking very hard - I have also seen a lot of hate from the conservative side of the fence as well. I think that each side plays the game well. I just think that you are conservative, and choose to look the other way when it comes to the conservatives claiming that liberalism is a mental disorder, or that all liberals should be killed simply due to a differing opinion. I guess it is much easier to look the other way when it is "your own kind" spewing the hate, huh?

Liberals do not hate Christians nor do they hate israel. I tend to have a liberal attitude and I am christian. I just think the US needs to be more worried about the US rather than other countries.Such as the millions that do not have health insurance and have difficulty feeding their families. Saying that all liberals hate christians and Israel is kinda ignorant. Sorry

Liberals generally keep an open mind and do not hate everybody. However they get a little jumpy when religious agendas are forced into legislation, as they firmly and strongly believe in the separation of Church and state.
I am a christian liberal and firmly believe that the basic tenants of Christianity being that a love and respect for all men, non judgment as well as sharing what I can with my community and those in need. When I look at the teachings of Jesus, I see a very progressive and dare I say liberal ideas about tolerance, acceptance and gratitude for all we have and all we can give.
So why do liberals hate Christians, your answer is they don't. In fact many wonderful Christians are liberal minded.

Its not that they hate Christians, it is the right wing Christians are not true Christians as they have gotten away from the true teachings of the Bible. As a lot of churches that have started they set their beliefs according to what they feeis right. The only true Christian Churches are the Catholic and the Lutheran Church which was a breakaway from the Catholic Church.
Religious Right Wing Extremists as the likes of Pat Robertson and the late Gerry Falwell are good examples of Religious nut cases. The same as the born again President George Walker Bush who is nothing but a Liar and a War Mongerer. A True Christian does not start A War that he Knows is based on lies, but Bush and Corruption will do anything to meet their goals and if lying is what it takes then lying it is.

Jeremy,
Politics in the media sources such as debates, blogs, and yes even this forum are often stomping grounds to parade in a dramatic flare your party's agenda.
Yet, Jeremy save a few immature or mental individuals, I believe the majority in both political groups are just everyday people such as you and I.
There are liberal Christians (I have been told !!) and there are also some Conservatives that are hateful. It is just human nature at it worst (politics ).
I am a Christian Republican, and I am offended by many of the party views of the Democrats-but I view individuals as just that individuals.

My opinion?
First, I'd suggest that you show a little evidence or documentation to support your opinion. That would be nice.
Second, I consider myself a Christian, but I don't do the kinds of things for which I dislike CERTAIN Christians.
What I'm talking about are the ultra-fundies who think that Jesus wrote them a blank check to be totally outrageous and aggressive under the guise of "witnessing."
These whack-jobs think they can get right up in your face (in the name of the Lord) and insult you (like THAT'S going to win souls over).
I'm thankful that circuit court judges in my part of the country have explained to them the difference between "witnessing" and "harassment." There is a distinct difference. Especially when you have footage on tape as evidence.
I've seen more hatred spewed by ultra-right "Christians" than any anti-war protestors.
And the funny part is that when they get rebuked (by citizens, much less the law), they interpred THAT as confirmation of the fervency of their beliefs ~ as if they're some sort of martyr. So, it's a vicious mobius strip.

I'm liberal and i am a Christian. I believe in things like "Love thy neighbor as thyself"
"Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone"
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God"
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven"
"This house is the house of the Lord, but you have made it a den of thieves" (to the moneychangers in the Temple - Televangelists and conservative religious pundits take note)
"If a man has two talents, give one to the poor, use the other one to buy flowers to feed the soul"
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth"
Now honestly, how many Christians do you know who follow these and the other teachings of Christ?

I agree with the part about hate spewers on this forum, but I don't think it's limited to liberals, in fact I don't think the liberal / conservative labels work very well anymore to define anybody, unless they attach the label to themselves.
I think there's a lot of anti-christian rhetoric around these days, but.....a whole lot more Christians than heathens in America.

As individuals, I would say it's split.
As an ideology, liberalism does see "faith" as a foundation of our capitalistic society, so faith, family, patriotism and capitalism are under attack by liberals. Liberals portray anyone who goes to church, as a book-burning fundamentalist. Liberals exagerate the far right as if it is a huge influence in the republican party.
A message to liberals- many people are part of the republican party becaue they oppose socialism and liberalism (as if there is a difference). We see these groups as a far greater danger than fundamentalist right wingers. It's funny, but liberals and fundamentalist Christians both see themselves as "middle of the road" and people who are normal, see you both as dangers in our society. Each of you try to impose your morality (fundamentalist) and lack of morality (liberals) on the rest of society.

Every liberal I know IS a Christian so your assumption is blown up right there. Just because someone is not a Bible thumping evangelist doesn't mean they are not a Christian.
Christians come in all shapes, sizes, colors and denominations. Some realize that and welcome all others are narrow minded and very un Christ like. Unfortunately the latter are the ones who tout their religion the most.
Both sides spew hate and it would seem to me that those who tout their Christianity the most would be the biggest hypocrites of all when they spew the hate that they do. One not claiming to be a Christian or who doesn't tout their religion cannot, necessarily, be expected to refrain from such diatribe but the holier than thou Christians must be held to the highest level of decorum and expectations. If they don't meet those levels than they are not really Christians and may be hypocrites.
Your post seems to infer hate from you toward those who don't agree with your narrow views. Are you a Christian, a hypocrite or both? Which is it?
