Does eating much make them happier?

As for me, eat or no eat, I feel the same numbness. Every day's just another hell hole for me to face.

Eat or no eat. Just the same for me.

I'm asking this because I hear from somewhere that fat people are happier.

Happy? Happy? How can I be happy? I'm a big fat bastard, I haven't seen my willy in years. I eat because I'm unhappy and I'm unhappy because I eat. It's a vicious cycle. You know I think I owe an apology to someone; myself

Well, there are physical bases for the potential of this to be true for a person, and there are psychlogogical ones.
First of all, eating gives the body a sense of satisfaction.
A few specifics:
Sugar causes the release of serotonin, a claming happy neurotransmitter.
Fat reacts withthe stomach to create cholescystikinin, the hormone that goes back to the brain's local glands and turn off insulin, and other hunger signals.
And finally, those people who are so sick that they cannot eat, and are on 24/7 IV, are sometimes allowed to eat just a bite or two of something, because the psychological effects of eating are so necessary to feeling content to be alive at all.

Other than that, did you ever notice that smokers make the best restaurant patrons? I mean, it's illegal to smoke in one in NYS now, but back when... these folks were the coolest. They didn't care that we sat and ate in their presence (at different tables, 99% of the time), or that we also smoked, or that the food was a little late.
They didn't stress over getting cancer, and weren't pains in our butts over perfect service, the way thay many non-smokers are. And then after all of that, they tipped better, too.
So, I think, I'm just guessing and I have no evidence in front of me, contrary to the above details I gave you,
but I really think that people who are large are just a BIT MORE LIKELY to be people who live to live, not to stress out.
SOME are like that, but I would not generlaize so much.

Being overweight or "fat" doesn’t mean you’re automatically happy with yourself. I was chubby as a kid and hated the way I looked so when I turned 16 i starved myself and lost so much weight I looked horrible and unhealthy was I happy thin or fat no! I still have food issues sometimes I don’t eat for 2 weeks because I get into this phase where I feel fat but everyone says I am not, doesn’t matter what ppl say. You need to love yourself in order to be happy; some of us have a harder time doing that. My good friend is obese she is 400lbs and she is happy with herself and has high self esteem and you know what? She meets men and makes friends all the time regardless of her size she walks with this certain confidence that even the skinniest person doesn’t have. I would love to have that kind of confidence but when you are put down as a child and or an adult, it’s hard to build that self-esteem up again. I personally express myself sexually because I think that’s the only way to hold someone's attention and I am good at it, I know its wrong but its my way of dealing with my lack of confidence in myself.

No, eating doesn't makes anyone happier. At least not for me. If eating could take us out of misery, I'd probably eat a truck load of food everyday

Happiness, regardless of ones size, is a state of mind. Many overweight people are happy as they are & many aren't, but don't know how to make the changes to be lean & healthy. Many people succumb to eating when they're unhappy, bored, or depressed. They use food as a comfort food. They can't seem to break out of that cycle until they decide to lose weight, exercise, & be healthy. Then it forever changes their lives forever.

I have a sister that is very over weight. I don't think she is happy... I see people make fun of here when we go out... I know she stress eats...

Life can be full of stress for everyone.... The key is to find solace in the small things in life, and to work hard at what ever you do....

Your question of course says you are thin.

So...I wonder if thin people are happy?
I have never heard it said that thin people are happy.
I think there must be self esteem issues with thin people for them to scrutinize others like that.

Of course I must be fat... after all why would I remark as such if I'm not.

But I feel really good about myself, perhaps I'm thin.

Yesterday I was happy for awhile, maybe I'm fat..

I'm confused.

persons who enjoy their life are happy. If a person isn't starving themselves on a regular basis to maintain a skinny physique will usually be a more upbeat person. Also eating well helps create good health which enhances a person's moral.
