newegg, not only do they have the best, or equal to best prices they often have selections with free shipping and hands down the best service. Unless you need a piece of hardware at that moment you should never consider best buy or other outlet stores, they often times charge 25% more or even higher compared to sites like newegg and tiger direct.

Well are you looking for just a CD burner or do you really want a CD/DVD burner???

If it's just a CD burner, I'd look locally in your area such as Staples, Comp USA, a local pc builder, etc. By the time you find one, purchase it, and pay shipping you may find it more expensive.

If you want a CD/DVD +/- and/or double layer burner, I'd check the following sites. I use these the most.

http://www.tigerdirect.com
http://www.pricewatch.com

tigerdirect is a self contained site and has a really good search engine for its site.

pricewatch is a search engine that will search many "stores" and give you a listing by the best price. The thing to do here is to check the suppliers ratings on the listing also. Some suppliers may not have great ratings but good prices. Just a heads up to be careful of.

Hope this helps.

Someone had mentioned to me here www.newegg.com for a DVD burner so you might want to check there for a CD burner also. Also, try www.bestbuy.com or www.hhgregg.com. They are a couple of the most reasonable electronics stores.

http://www.microcenter.com

They have the most inexpensive optical drives out there. Some are OEM so you won't get a box with it, or much in terms of a user guide.
