No, it's not cheating. Cheating is a synonym, almost, for deceiving. If it's with the spouse's permission, it's not cheating. Marriage is best thought of as a contract. Whenever any two people have a contract, any of the terms of the contract may be changed with the consent of both parties. Permission = consent.
I know this to be true because my wife and I are planning for her to have sex with another guy while I watch. I'm looking forward to it. We already had a threesome with another woman a couple of years ago, and that wasn't cheating either. If you're ever in the situation, you can definitely tell the difference between what's cheating and what's not. Being cheated on feels like a devastating betrayal. Sex with others with consent obviously doesn't feel that way at all.

I consider cheating to be something you would never do in front of your spouse/partner or, without their knowledge.
In this scenario, if you're both in agreement with it, it's not cheating....however, I would never make it with someone else even with my husband's permission...and if he even suggested it to me, I would respond with a resounding slap across his face!
But that's just me.. :)

i think its cheating regardless - now if you want to have a three way maybe thats different but still wouldnt do it - i dont want my man making love to any other woman but me - and i dont want to have another man inside of me holding me kissing me -
just because a person deals with something because they love the other person definitely doesnt make it right - you may stay out at the bar until 5am every morning and your wife doesnt leave you because she loves you , but that doesnt mean its ok for you to stay out because she wont leave - shes staying because she loves you not because she doesnt have a problem with it - and in my eyes thats taking advantage -

It is still cheating. You made a vow to be faithful. Even if you both have extramarital affairs, you are both cheating, and it will come back to haunt you.

Still cheating ... and you have a skanky, terrible, unloving spouse/mate who is probably cheating on you as well.
