its not one event that changed the world or society. i think it is a process the world goes through. socieety is out of control because of so much justification and acceptance to things that are way out of line with speech, fashion, and actions! Everyday people want to be radicals and make a mark on this world. its gotten to the point were it is just anything that grabs people's attention and it can be a wrong move and it will be accepted. little by little boundaries are being crossed in manyways and not only are those basic human boundaries being crossed but they are being erased and it almost seems like anyone can come a nd redraw the boundaries... and someone will cross and erase that boundary and redraw his or her own! i believe that in the next 20 years this world is going to be just kaos! i hate to say this but, i dont think anyone in this earth can stop this. only God can put and end or stop to this! :)

I don't think it is something that happened in the last 10 years - it has been building over the last century really with each generation taking more risks than the previous.
Parents of flappers were wondering back in the 20s how things were getting so out of control - then kids went society was forced back in check over the depression - which caused the 40s and the 50s stark conservatism. The 60s and 70s rebelled against the conservatism and you got flower children, free love, etc (and of course Vietnam didn't help anything) Since the 80s it has just been one generation challenging the last.
It's not all about the kids either! The responsibilities of parents and direction given to the youth by the adults seems to be dwindling also.
There are a lot of reasons for it though - money, the amount of wealth even though there is still poverty, the amount of wealth in this country has led to people seeking to attain more wealth and both parents need to work. Technology shoulders some of the blame as well as media, movies, and television. I am not Christian, but I think that the decline in God is partly to blame as well when it comes down to it. A society with strict morals are always going to be more controlled and gives the people as a whole a direction.
There is no easy solution, and I don't really see a way - or at least an easy way to get back a balance!

What's your point of reference? In the U.S., major crimes have gone down almost everywhere. There are basically no riots or turbulance that existed in the late 60's. Other than certain parts of the world, most societies live relatively peacefully. Now I do agree there's a threat from islamic fundamentalism that seems scarier since 9/11, but generally, I just don't agree with your statement that today's society seems "so out of control."

Selfishness and immaturity is out of control and it's idolized in society, in economics, in pop culture.
But don't pay attention to the media - they are also very immature and selfish.
Go to some small town or farming area, meet some country folks. Spend a week or two there, you'll come away with a different perspective.

Population growth in the U.S. More people means more crime and issues. Social issues such as gay marriage, stem cell research, and other controversial subjects are being debated by people. One of the main issues in the U.S. is the Iraq war, which is not something that has been going on until like 4 years ago. It is very controversial and some people dont agree with it. We have always had problems in our society because of the diversity of this country.

Amin to that sister!
Ok may I bare the patience as the boot says, here we go....
First think I have to say and remind myself is LORD FORGIVE US ALL amin! Secondly I have to say, is no matter what error there is if its ours or theirs we really have to move on to higher ground regarding all this, it almost like we are reminding ourselves of that beautiful car we had that we decided to smash up cause of whatever reason beyond knowledge to mankind and we decided to just what subconciously remind ourselves how much we really didn't want to do that even though it did happen?
Surely my big toe and the web I spin is much better to talk about than all this segrigation and seperation astugfarAllah Azeem Ouzibillah mina shytan rajeem... you don't hear the christians ranting on about their proistin this and their catholic that and if they do Jesus and Muhammed peace eternal to them both didn't do anything like that, they didn't even talk that much.... they where far too busy working! I mean you want to forget about this son and daughter stuff and father and he did and she did and we all did and wrapped around a tree and we can finally talk about how your house needs a new roof and we are here to help and how your wife makes the best bread on this side of the atlantic, and how beautiful your children are and what a joy it is to have you as a nieghbour.
I mean you do go to bed and wake up everyday don't you, surely your not spinning a magic wheel to decide what your going to talk about today, we have shown order and we have shown clear signs towards peace and mercy those who believe and you don't have to go too far to find them they are all over the world, they are not arabs and jews and muslms and christians...THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS all of the same race, surely the ants are better than us, I have yet to see them do anything but order and create! And yet they have a brain the size of one of the tips of our hair.. are we to call on this fight everday... I don't get it.. Like I said May the lord forgive us inshAllah amin
It just shows me how much more mercy, and forgiveness I have to keep thinking to give and share.. what was that Allah SWT said, if they put the venum of the snake in you, rush the your blood with the patience and peace that I provide and you will always have goodness showered upon you... I am darn sure you can translate or colate or whatever scripture that says it if not 200 to 1000x in all those books but we rather vulturize on one or two lines of them instead and make everything such an issue that we don't even remember what we are fighting about.. and that is exactly what Allah Most Gracious Most High said, he said when they fight and know not why they fight is when the doom will start... is that what this is all about giving each other greef? Astugfarallah I am only reminding myself inshAllah Salam

Over-population, a concerted effort to turn the babies and everyone else into consumers, the border has been thrown wide open...I can't think of the other factors right now but there are more...lack of parental guidance of the youth...

Technology
Everything thing that is happening now, happened 10 years ago. We just hear about it a lot faster because of the internet, satelite TV, cell phones, etc...

Satan has gained more control over the world, which proves that we are living in the last days. However, hold on to your thoughts because you have seem nothing yet. Things will get far worst, like 100 or 1,000 times worst before the end comes.
