I got mom a new vacuum after she cut the bag off of the other one--way easier than unzipping it to change the bag. I set it up and showed her how to use it and she moved the hose so everything she sucked up blew all over the room. She called me and said she hated the new vacuum. I showed her what was wrong--her answer hnmnmph. I had a good chuckle after I left.
Another time I went and cleaned for her and she called me up and said I spilled something on her carpet and it had a big stain--took a while to figure that one out, it was a prism humming bird in her window shining a 'tinker bell' on the carpet. She never had a senior moment--it was always me having them. I miss her antics now that she is gone--except for taking the toilet apart.
Adendum here, I fixed myself a glass of ice water and reached for my lime juice and instead gave my glass a good shot of dish soap--hey they were both green.

Yes it does. It also helps if you change the collection bags once in awhile, so the stuff being picked up actually has somewhere to go.
My Mom always wanted to make sure she got complete value for her money, so once the bag was full, she would cut off the bottom fold that closes the bag, and empty it, then fold it and re-sew it. She got a minimum of three uses out of each of her bags that way.

Note to self: Remember sylvia's advice....because one never knows when a senior moment may occur. Speaking of "senior moments." Last night, I learned that pointing the cordless telephone at the television does not change the channels. ~lol~

Yup! It is as well to switch the electric kettle on if you want hot water, or turn the oven on if you want ot bake, or even take a key when you leave the house if you want to get in. Make sure you have enough petrol when you want to make a long journey. I've done 'em all and more but never in the same half year

Thanks for that.
Yesterday I stood waiting for the kettle to boil, to make a cuppa....I even poured some of the water away, as it was taking ages. The bloody thing wasn't plugged in!
