None of them will fix the tax code. For one thing tax codes are passed by Congress and Congress isn't about to do anything to fix the tax code. To do so would invoke the ire of so many different groups none of them would be in office after the next election. All of them would be saying why didn't you protect my exemption --It was totally justified.
The present tax code is too heavy to carry in a pickup truck. Why? Because over time there have been so many loopholes inserted into the code it's as effective as a screen door on a submarine.
Yes the code needs fixing. Because the uber-rich can afford tax lawyers to search out these loopholes and LEGALLY use them to their advantage. The average guy can't afford this, so they pay more.
I've heard NO candidate make the statement they want a complete rewrite of the tax code. Anything less is putting a band-aid where a tourniquet is needed.

I believe any of the Democratic candidates will fix the tax code if it is determined that it needs fixing. Apparently from what I have seen there are aspects of it that do need fixing and other aspects that do not. Congress is always tinering with the tax code.

Yes it needs fixing. Giving corporations tax cuts with the idea that it will somehow turn into jobs is and has always been a farce. It puts more money into the pockets of investors and CEOs, period. All the candidates from the left will try to fix that, pronto. Trickle down, my @ss. And Ron Paul is not the answer.

I don't think it needs "fixing", but it definately needs overhauling and streamlining. We spend a huge amount of money collecting taxes--that alone would make a worthwhile candidate for overhauling/streamlining.
As for the candidates, the only one who's harping on it is Paul, and he's too extreme for most people's taste. The rest of them will give it lip service, but that's about it.

i think of his emphasis on Socialism is what American needs. They elected a Republican management that raised discretionary spending by using 40% the final 12 years, bobbing up a Socialistic type government yet decreased taxes. Obamma might artwork with the Democrat domicile to repair this. Our u . s . can not proceed with the fed government 50% of the financial device at such low tax fees. Obamma might help get our tax fees up around 70% like in Europe and we could decrease the deficit and furnish national healthcare. additionally, individuals ought to savor a central authority that tells them what jobs they are allowed to hold and what Dr. they are allowed to ascertain and what pre-college their little ones could bypass to. Then they might savor extra game like in Europe with a 35 hr artwork week and that i think of Obamma might carry in simple terms about all those issues to the yankee people and permit government somewhat run our lives.

No candidate is for that. The tax code desperately needs fixing, starting with:
- Ending the child deductions
- Ending tax-free status for churches
