Probably one of the Ealing comedies like Ladykillers or Lavender Hill Mob, but there are so many to choose from. I will go for The Ladykillers. Actually thinking of that there is also Whisky Galore, which is based on the true story of the SS Politician shipwrecked off Scotland.

Also there is Local Hero, in fact forget The Ladykillers, Local Hero.

Jings that was tough

There are loads!! But, I think solely on entertainment value it has to be "Four weddings and a Funeral" - gets me every time. Of course all the others like that: Love actually, Notting Hill, Two and a half weeks, etc. But - I love the Monty Python films too. 2001 'A space Odyssey' is a classic. Ardman animations have done great work. I watched a film yesterday on BBC 2 - can't remember the name unfortunatly - and it was romantic/drama/comedy and it was great. Kenneth Brannar's 'Hamlet' is almost a definitive film version of Shakespeare.
