I don't like to bash but we do need to understand.
In my opinion, most of today's liberals are in the Democratic party. That party seems to be a coalition of many small, single issue groups. Most seem to be agrieved in some way. Most are looking to government as the source of solutions to their problems.

They are currently enjoying disproportionate influence thanks mostly to people like George Soros who pours large amounts of private funding into supporting their efforts. Without his money backing them, they would be far less effective in swaying the Democratic Leadership.

So, in a way, they are under Soros' contol but they are not mindless. They are motivated and exploitive. They are bound by his money. As long as they keep rowing his way they can stay in the boat. This makes them support each other's issues.

Republicans, on the other hand, tend to be conservative. Conservatives are by definition distrustful of government and self sufficient. This makes them far stronger, individually but much more difficult to control.

Just look at almost every protest rally in the last 60 years. Rare indeed is the protest rally with large numbers of conservatives. Trying to manipulate conseratives is like trying to herd cats! Forget about it!

Conservatives tend to support Republicans. But as was reciently displayed with the immigration reform fiasco, they are very knowlegeable, independent and not easily led down the garden path.

It will be interesting to see how much of an effect the Soros supported left wing has on the primary election. They will be exerting a lot pull dragging the candidates to the left.

We all know that once the Democratic candidate has been selected, the Soros people will loose all influence. Every Democratic candidate is well aware that winning the election is impossible with a liberal platform. They will throw the far left under the bus. After all, what can they do about it? Vote Republican? You know that will never happen.
