It's probably either the lamp, or the inverter. Take it to a Repair Center, and ask for an estimate. They should charge somewhere between $50-$90 to fix such problems. If you fix it yourself it should be like $15, but I don't recomend you do that unless you have experience in fixing laptops.

If it's under warranty, contact whoever sold it to you.

I doubt it is the brightness. I cant recall but could be the bulb is burnt out. If I recall there should be a light source for the screen. I could be wrong. If it is the brightness then the person to last use it would of turned it up after turning it down no?

Sorry but this is probably the most common problem to have with an LCD screen. It is due to bad capacitors on the logic board. Its a very easy fix if you feel like replacing the capacitors yourself, or else you should seek rma replacement, or a repair shop.

you might want to check the connection between the monitor and the video card/motherboard. its usually under the keyboard - take out battery, unscrew screws, pop off plastic pieces and remove keyboard. Keep in ind laptops come in all shapes and sizes so it may be a differnt process. You can usually go onlin to the manufacturers site and search for aprts breakdowns to see how it come apart. Aside from that your screen may be screwed

The computers back light has burned out. Take it to a computer repair to see how much it will cost to repair. It may be cheaper to replace the machine.

right click on the desktop. go to properties and then settings. click advance and then look around in there. see if u can find aything to return settings to default.
