i am switching a cd drive from one computer to another. the computer that i am taking the drive from may have a virus. will the recieving computer get infected?

not a cd drive, just don't transfer the hard drive at least until it's clean.

You should disable autorun on the computer the cd is going into. Then as long as you don't open any files you did not put on the cd its pretty hard to get it on the other computer. Like if it says yourfile.exe don't double click it.

No, you would have to transfer the hard drive to bring the virus from one machine to another. An optical drive has not data unless it has a disk in it.
