Can't answer without more information. Does the engine turn over at all? If not, your battery is dead and your alternator may be bad. The gurus at AutoZone can check your battery and your alternator and tell you if they need to be replaced. If the engine turns over but won't start and it seems like the spark plugs aren't firing, you have a problem with the ignition system and the list of things that could be causing the problem is very long (bad fuses, faulty ignition module or distributor/rotor if your car has that type of ignition system, bad spark plug wires, etc.) Another possibility is the fuel filter may need replacing or the fuel pump may have died. Since there are so many possible problems here, your best bet is to take it to a mom-and-pop mechanic and have them look at it. They usually give free estimates (or apply the estimate fee toward repair if they fix your car) and they do a heck of a lot better work than the dealerships -- and they charge less too.

If running out of gas was the problem, try cycling the ignition swich on/off several times without trying to start it, that will usually bleed the air out of the fuel rails. If that doesn't work, you might have to bleed out the air-lock manually. Locate the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail, usually has a plastic cap screwed on it. Remove the cap & you'll see it's like a tire valve stem. Turn on the ignition switch & CAREFULLY depress the pin until gas comes out. Turn off ignition, clean up any spilled gas, then try to start the car. It might seem like there's no spark because the spark hasn't anything to ignite. If this doesn't work, there's probably a problem in either your ignition or computer.

We purchase previous autos for all time and battery themes continuously arise. Heres are 2 thoughts that would help shop it beginning & what it would desire to be. One automobile wasn't pushed interior the winters & if left it to long without driving does no longer start up the two. So each few days i could start up it for a jiffy. If I waited longer then that i could want a leap. i could in basic terms attempt this if i became you. yet another automobile does no longer start up & had to be jumped each morning. After identifying to purchase 3 new batteries we found out the Antenna became the reason. no longer rapidly draining the battery. We disconnected the antenna and have not had a difficulty for the reason that. probable no longer what's inflicting your difficulty yet purely a heads up that something small like that would desire to be what's incorrect.

If you ran an fuel injected car completely out of gas, it may need to have the system primed before it will start again.
