The best way is to get cast in a play or showcase and invite agents to come see you. Otherwise, look up local agencies in the phone book and send in your picture/resume with a request for an interview.

There are sites for casting and networking, but how could anyone know what you are able to do unless they see you in person?

Sorry, but NewYorkGal and BigR have it right. If any legit agent read your question they wouldn't bother with you. You just sound way too naive and inexperienced. Legit agencies are not advertising online for new clients. You have to do things the right way if you want to get anywhere. And once again, legit agencies getting you a SAG contract take 10% period. If an agent getting you a SAG contract is taking more than that then REPORT THEM because you're getting ripped off. In all likelyhood the other peson who stated they were on a show and their agent took 20% used an agency that hires extras and perhaps that is why their fee schedule is higher because it was non-union work. I don't know that for sure, that's just my best guess. With all due respect you have to know that this is not something easliy entered into. It can take many years to obtain any amount of notable success if you ever get to that level and it all starts with a committment to training and career path. You need to have the full support of your parents as well. No agent is going to discover you. You have to take acting classes, get involved in theatre, and get all the experience you can.

When you've done that, come back and ask about getting an agent and we'll help you.

good luck!

Ahhh, no.

If you find an agent and have the idea that you want to know how to do things easily, they'll turn you down.

Getting "discovered" is rare, and it's not as though it would be like a job interview. Trust me, an agent won't ask you, "So how are are you with being on time?"

Acting, even on the amateur level, is not a 9-to-5 job. You're saying that you know how agencies work, but you clearly don't. They don't go out searching for no-names with no experience.

If you're serious -- REALLY serious -- about this, then make the commitment to pay your dues.

Take every opportunity, locally, to act. If there are school plays, audution. If there are community theater productions with roles you would fit in, audition. If you hear of a local company wanting to film a commercial, and you would fit (they need a boy of your age and race and "look"), audition. Go to a good acting camp in the summer. Attend acting workshops. And the whole time, get your education, because this is DEFINATELY not a tried-and-true career choice. New York City, and LA, is just full of people waiting tables, waiting for their big break. Seriously, look up the number of girls who had to audition for the role of Harry Potter, or Ron Weasley. Out of many thousands of boys, TWO were chosen. You realize that means that the chances of getting a big break on any given good kids' role are around one in several thousand. It's great to have a dream, but with something that statistically is so unlikely, it's not a bad idea to have some other skills developed.

At some point, unless you already happen to live in southern California or New York, you are going to have to face the reality that extensive travel will have to happen if you want to break into the business, and most likely, you and at least one parent will need to move if you plan to work much at all.

If or when that happens, you need to be able to show all these people -- your parents, agents, managers, casting agents -- that you have the determination and seriousness to make all their sacrifices or choices to support you worth it. Looking for how to get in the business "easily" is the complete opposite of that. If you aren't committed enough to even do the work needed to get started, why should they assume, after you've signed a contract for a five-month shoot in Vancouver, you have what it takes to be reliable day after day?

I wish you the best of luck (don't worry, it's luck on a career, not luck on a particular performance, so "good luck" is okay).

It's extremely difficult to get a contract with a real agent. Jorge is a kid and is NOT a professional actor. If you don't have a lot of experience and professional training and talent and a marketable look you will not be considered. And do you live in a major city? You have to realize that anything you want that is worthwhile is HARD to get. There is no easy in life. Everyone who has an acting career had to work hard to get it. It only seems like it was easy. Just enjoy being a kid and act in school and find a kids theater group. The only agencies that will look at you at this point will be scams.

When you perform in a play, invite the agents in your city, to see the production. If they can use your type on their client list, they may call you. Also, you must have a lot of acting experience and be a very good actor. Legitimate Talent Agencies do NOT advertise online, they are not allowed to do so.

Online agencies are NOT a legitimate Talent Agency.
Ask actor friends to refer you to their agent.
