A few days ago I posted a question about wanting to use tampons, well I just got my first one in. Now I'm nervous about taking it out. Will it hurt? How long should I leave it in for? Advice and Tips Appreicated.

Great! It will be like riding a bike, you never forget. To take it out, just grab the string and pull. You might feel a little tug from where the tampon is folding back up, but you shouldn't feel any pain. A tampon should be changed every 6-8 hours consistently, so carry an extra one with you to school. Note, if it gets to the point that the tampon is uncomfortable after you put it in, you may need a smaller size...because when you sit down, that large one will make you feel like you are sitting on something.

Depending on the size of the Tampon is how long you can leave it in generally eight hours, the will be instructions in the box. If you tug the string gently prior to the eight hours and it moves easily it needs to be changed. It may feel a little weird when you take it out but it will not hurt. Never sleep or travel long distances sitting (long haul flight, etc) whilst using a tampon.

No,it won`t hurt when you take it out if it is fully used. Leave it in NO MORE than 8 hours. I`d say on lite days change it every 4 hours and on heavy days every 2 or 3 hours, but you need to find whats right for your flow. Good luck and best wishes!

It shouldn't hurt when you take it out. You can leave a tampon in for a maximum of 8 hours. (Don't leave it in any longer). Leave it in for at least 5-6 hours so that it has time to absorb enough liquid. (It may hurt if you remove it and it hasn't absorbed enough)

Depending on your flow you'll figure out how long to leave it in but NEVER leave it in for more than a few hours because you increase your risks of getting TSS. And no it won't hurt taking it out.
