Nothing wrong with it; those Series were good baseball, and '93 gave us a classic ending.

Too bad the Expos didn't have a chance to make a Canadian hat trick in '94... sigh...

I would have to understand your reasons as to why it might not have been? Are you suggesting it just because they are in Canada because I don't see how that matters, except maybe to television ratings?

I can see a possible argument that the Marlins winning in 97 and 03, followed by their immediate dismantling, is not good for the game. The Blue Jays dismantled, but not as rapid as the Marlins.

Toronto winning gave them a chance to show off the Skydome, a big attraction at the time.

Those Blue Jay teams were good - Alomar, Carter, Devon White, Molitor, Morris, Cone, Stewart, Key, etc. etc. and were fun to watch. I still can't believe Otis Nixon tried to bunt in 92 and the Joe Carter home run was a great baseball moment (unless you are a Phillies fan).

So I would need to better understand your question to answer better. Sorry

Yes, Canada proved that baseball could be popular there because of the Blue Jays success. Besides, if american teams are going to win the Stanley Cup, why can't a canadian team with the World Series? I would like to see Toronto get a shot at an american football team.

And a hell of a team that was, too!!
As a lifelong Cardinal fan I was really pulling for the BlueJays to ntake the AL in '85. It would have been the first, and to date, only time two bird teams met in the World Series.

No better, no worse than the Yankees winning ad nauseum 26 times in the last 100 years

i think it was indifferent. it was good to have to red sox win and if the cubs won it would be good to. in order for something to be good for the leauge it has to create extra media buzz and bandwagon for people to jump on.
