Has anyone used one of those sound emitters to rid their yard/house of mice? I've been using glue boards, but really don't want to pick them up to throw away (have caught about 3 so far this year). I've seen those sound emitter things and was wondering if they work and how far will the sound carry (if I put it in my garage, will any mice in the yard run away too)?

Don't waste your money. They don't work. Use decon packs. It dehydrates them, so they go back outside to look for water and usually die outside. I've used them for years and have yet to find a dead one in the house. I usually get about 2 per year that come in during the fall and after that, no more.

A safe home mouse poison is
Tablespoon of Plaster Paris mixed with a tablespoon of flour and a pinch of salt. Put this in a jar lid along side another lid with water. The mice will eat the flour mixture. Drink the water. The plaster sets up in their stomachs and they die. Plus the plaster dries the carcass out where there is no dead smell.
This will not effect dogs or cats.
But put the lids somewhere where the pets can't get to them..

If you have pets, I wouldn't recommend using them. The sound affects dogs and cats too. It's kind of like blowing a dog whistle continuosly.

You might try using mothballs around stuff you don't want them to get into and using steel wool to seal up all the cracks around your home so they can't get inside. They can squeeze through holes about the diameter of a pencil.
