The voters keep electing them so they must be reflecting the majority there. That said, my concern is, why would anyone consider Massachusetts a great state?.

Maybe the voters like to imagine they could someday be in a position to preach about environmentalism and simultaneously prevent the construction of wind-energy within view of their mansions.

Or perhaps they are comforted to know that at least some people get away with driving a young lady off a bridge on the way home from a party, returning to the party, failing to call the police, then swimming across a 500 foot channel to go home and sleep.

Because there are no term limits on Congressmen.

And the citizens of that state keep electing them.

Once you have an established representative, it's extremely difficult for a same-party challenger to win the party slot. Therefore, since the people vote the same year after year, the same candidates win year after year.

Its a popularity vote. All the BS that they have done over the years would make them unelectable in other states. However the old guard is still in session in MASS and if nothing else the older generation votes whereas the younger generation does not.

Hum, people(like myself) usually don't pay to much attention, like you don't pay attention to your neighbors dogs until they bite the ....out of you. Then you might rally and have them fenced in so they cannot do anymore damage, same for the two senators.

Ask the people of Massachusetts. They keep electing them. Where do you live? Maybe we think your senators suck. Probably do, since they are no doubt Republicans.

Maybe for the same reason they elected Mitt Romney as governor, when he is so out of date and untruthful.
