What should I tell my step daughter...her house seems to have a poltergeist?

Or some kind of entity...there are physical manifestations as well as audio. Most of the mischief is aimed at the baby. She is afraid to be home alone with the kids.

It happens after her husband leaves for work and the other child is a 4 yr old daughter...she can account for the whereabouts of the kids when the stuff happens...it isn't them

Poltergeist are chaos wights. Because they are usually attached to the family/individual, moving would probably not directly solve the problem. I would suggest promoting positive energy within the house. Open the windows on a nice day, keep things tidy (I know, hard to do with children!) Stop and play with the kids. Even play calming music throughout the day. When/if the problems are seen, immediately command the spirit to "Leave my house at once, be gone!" If possible, she should also contact her guardian - this will make her feel stronger and less fearful. This in itself will help to rid the house of the poltergeist.

Here is something that I would not have even thought of 40 or 50 years ago. Might save a lot of time. Use a digital camera's short movie or a movie camera to catch what's happening. Then a way of clearing could be quickly found.

Also, if you know of anyone who can tell the mother of the children's' and the Fathers aura. It would be a help. Smudge and place a small line of salt at all entrances of the house.
