--------------------Immigration-------------------
Although as to other foreigners it is thought better to discourage their settling together in large masses, wherein, as in our German settlements, they preserve for a long time their own languages, habits, and principles of government, and that they should distribute themselves sparsely among the natives for quicker amalgamation, yet English emigrants are without this inconvenience. They differ from us little but in their principles of government, and most of those (merchants excepted) who come here, are sufficiently disposed to adopt ours." --Thomas Jefferson to George Flower, 1817.

Our founding fathers thought it prudent to divide people and not suggest they settle into communities of one race or culture .

Whats so hard to understand about this . We have china towns mexican town puerto rico town and cuba town black town or in New york Harlem where for some reason all these people tend to gather .

This was not what this nation was intended to be and it is driven by evil people bent on power and wealth building at the cost of all people now that they have divided they can conquer

As long as the USA is a nation that allows individual freedom, immigrants will be able to live wherever they want. People associate with others like themselves, so naturally the immigrants will group together.
Our government shouldn't cater to all these people, just require them to deal with the government in our native language, and require them to follow our laws.

I wish to hell they would all be in the same place. That way I wouldn't have to hang up 3 times to get a person that speaks English to help me with a problem or understand my damn fast food order.

I grew up in L.A. and never thought it was wrong for small communities to develop within large communities. A recent study said people do better when their neighborhoods reflect themselves. What I object to is sticking within these small communities and not assimilating into America. You immigrated to America. Not pay us back by not trashing that which gave you prosperity and freedom!!!

Whilst this isn't the intention of your question, rather than divide by culture, I would rather divide by party. Let the libs all move to California or New York (or other "blue states" of their choosing) and leave the rest of us happy and content elsewhere. They can form whatever kind of socialist utopia they think they'll have and let the rest of us go on with business as usual. Kind of radical, but sure would calm things down.
