Hello; I was looking into the recent OS X upgrades from Mac, just becuase I know now that Mac OS is compatible with PCs (becuase Macs are now PCs!; they changed their architecture a while back, and now use Intel CPUs ... they used to use Motorola, and were completely incompatible with PCs). In my investigation, I discovered that Apple was even more of a tyrant than Microsoft, about upgrades! They won't offer you a penny off the price of the upgrade... and this will be their undoing! Same thing with Microsoft; I'm moving to Linux Operating system; it'll take some getting used to, but the most expensive version of Linux to date is Linux XP... it's $19.95! Since your Mac is actually a PC in architecture (with a logo of an apple on it), you can also use any Windows Operating system, if you wanted to... just as I could have purchased Mac OS X, whatever the new ver. is... I forgot the number... as I recall; Apple want even more for their new OS, than MS wants for Vista or XP Pro! No thanks! Besides, I've always found Mac's Operating Systems to be too limiting for the advanced or "power user".

That's my humble opinion; I hope you found it at least partially useful!;

Hiya
You won't get leopard for free I'm afraid but I'd wait a bit anyway until its been out there awhile.
Did you buy the applecare from Amazon as well ? If so then of course you can call apple for any assistance. If you didn't then you can still call apple but you won't get priority service. Having said that you can get free pretty good and quick online support through apple.com/support/discussions.

good luck with your apple I'm sure you'll fall in love with it :)

Call Amazon and get a refund. Refuse shipment when it arrives and it will go back to Amazon. When you get your money back, buy the new one. Apple WILL NOT upgrade you for free.

No chance.

You should either send it back and wait, put up with the current OS, or by leapord when it comes out
