Most women dont feel better during pregnancy but I do. Its probably because Im taking vitamins daily and my skin, hair, and nails look better, plus you glow. All this makes me feel great. As far as what foods to eat you will naturaly want to eat better but when you get a craving for a big fatty cheeseburger dont be afraid to give in! Dont worry to much and you and your baby will be fine! Good luck!

Whole natural foods that are as close to what God made them. I eat very few things with additives, preservatives, artificial flavors/colors, etc. I also don't eat meat, dairy or eggs. I try to make sure I get plenty of whole grains, veggies and fruits. (I'm currently eating a veggie burger [very spicy, not good for my heartburn, but it's yummy] on vegan whole wheat bread sweetened with cane sugar and raisin juice. It's the Meijer grocery store brand, the wide pieces.)
I get my protein from soy, nuts, peanuts (I have a habit of taking the jar of natural peanut butter and a spoon and mindlessly scoop) veggie burgers, beans, etc. Also, fruits and veggies also have protein in them as well. I'm not worried about my baby or me not getting enough of any nutrient.
I also don't limit calories, as most of what I eat is whole and healthy. I get my fats from nuts and Smart Balance spread. (The light because it spreads better than the regular Smart Balance) It is also fortified with omega-3.
Naturally, I neither smoke nor drink. I did accidently take a cup of wine at Communion a month or so ago, and this past Sunday, even thoguh I looked (I thought I did the first time, too), I think I too some wine. I don't think the miniscule amounts, though are going to harm my baby.
Anyway, I hope this helps.

Just eat lots of fruits and veggies and get on W.I.C that is the best way to get what you and your baby needs for your baby to come out healthy and for you to have a healthy pregnancy. Make sure you exercise every day so you will be in shape for labor and delivery because it's a lot of work. Walk 20-30mins a day and swim, stuff like that.

Folic acid is important, but really only significant in reducing defects prior to and within the first few weeks of pregnancy.
Fish is total brainfood, along with flaxseed and other proteins.
As for baby - breast milk as long as you can manage it. When baby is ready for solids, try to make your own food - steamed and pureed fruits and veggies. Storebought anything - organic or not - is not going to be as good as anything you prepare yourself.

Lots of oily fish is recommended! In the long run it is good for the baby's vision etc.. Try to stay away from sushi and under cooked meats & eggs.
Also limit the salt use which will cause alot of your swelling. Pretty much stay away from junk foods!

lots and lots of fruits and veggies. You need to take a prenatal vitamin everyday. And make sure you're getting enough folic acid. Some foods rich with folic acid are are fruits, citrus juices, leafy green vegetables, dry beans, peanuts and whole-grain products.
Heres a website that might help.

I would say to make sure, first, that you are taking your pre-natal vitamins. Then, make sure you eat lots of fruits, veggies, protein and calcium. It is good for you to eat some fish too to get DHA, but you have to be careful about what kinds of fish, so ask you doctor what's ok and what's not. Also, drink lots of water too.

Hey Jaz:-) Try to drink this juice every morning, it's delicious...
Orange juice, carrots, tomatoes and beets, blend it, strain it, it's ready. it's refreshing and it's good for you, if you don't like beets, you can leave it out but beets have a lot of iron that you need.
You can try this one also: banana, milk or orange juice, papaya, it's really good, and you know banana has a lot of potassium in it and they say is the most complete fruit...:-)))besides. fruits make your skin looks radiant:-)))
