In a standard coffee/tea brewer, the water is NOT filtered. Here in western Arkansas, we have really good tap water so it isn't necessary. However, some parts of the country have such poor water quality that all drinking water must be filtered (usually, a sizable gizmo that is screwed onto the faucett). My friend in Mississippi has terrible water and everyone there has to budget in water filter systems or plan on buying bottled water...due to heavy metals and chemicals in the water table. In fact, the University of Mississippi, as a major selling point, has a two page spread describing the wonderful water purification system designed for their campus...LOL

When making coffee/tea I use tap water from the sink. I live in a nice area, my water really has no need for filtering. Even when I lived on our farm, I drank water straight from the hose.

Ours has to be filtered otherwise I go through a coffee pot about once a month. I only use tap water for cooking. Lots of minerals in the water.

always filtered, my husband can tell when it's tap water. Even when we eat out, he can tell if they use tap water or not. I think we misunderstood the question. The coffee machine does not filter the water.

All a coffee gadget does is warmth up the water, bypass it in the process the beans / filter out and into the pot. So according to how plenty time or staying power you have you're able to be waiting to do an identical element. possibly use a strainer and set the filter out interior the strainer and run warm / boiling water via it into your pot or another field.

Our water is great where I live and we use the tap water all the time. If I go to another town or city, I always bring water with me from home.
