The outer atmosphere would burn up most of the meteorite as they are mostly gases there is some solid rock [look at some of the craters that have been made] There was a recent one
[apx.150 years ago] in Russia where one exploded above ground doing a great amount of damage. Arizona has one or two of them, besides if you picked it up right away it would be so hot from friction that it would burn a hole in your pocket so wait until it cools off, if you can find it.

Yes. They are composed of gas and heat so it would probably roast you like a smores. Talk about having a hole in your pocket lol.
