In public, not often unless I'm in a crowded/busy place. It was daily when I lived at home w/ my parents. I'd have my door closed & a huge sign on it that said to knock but my mom & sister would just ignore the dang sign & walk right on in....quite a few times while I was changing or whatever. Argh!! At least my dad was polite enough to knock & wait for an answer from me =o) NOW, I live w/ two roommates & I have my privacy quite a bit....it's heavenly!! If I have my door closed then they'll either knock or call for me & if it's open then they usually just stand in the doorway to talk to me unless I tell them they can come in.

ALOT. Where I live there is this problem where the people ignore eachothers space. This happens constantly. Excuse me, can i get by here, can you MOVE. You have to really have a conversation with people you DONT want to talk to becuase they just park themselves in the aisles or the lines or walk right into eachother. its wierd..and its funny cause this place has a lot of fights too. its an aggressive, stupid mentality

Not too often. My personal space is as far as I can reach with my arms extended. My pet peeve is people interrupting conversations. That happens all the time.

I work in retail and customers will do this sometimes. If I just take a step back right away before answering their question, they usually get the hint. If not, I take another step back for every step forward they take. By the second or third step, they finally understand that they are way too close.

All the time. I frequently tell people to BACK OFF when I'm using an ATM or paying for something at a store. You can feel their stank breath landing on your clean clothes. Ugh.
