yep, I loved that show!!!!! Thanks for the memories.
Here's a Wikipedia entry about it if anyone's interested. I learned something on it. Lou Pinella's playing career was ended in 1984 when he injured his rotator cuff while being pitched to by the San Diego Chicken on the show.

And here's a You Tube outtake from the show.

That was a great show as a kid. Also liked This Week in Baseball with Mel Allen. It was before ESPN and the only way to see the highlights from the previous week's games.

Yes! I remember it came on about 6 am on Saturdays, and I'd try to be up early to watch it. That poor San Diego Chicken. Will he ever win?
Here's some info about the show for those who have never seen it. I guess it actually came on at 7. I must have remembered it wrong after 25 years. I do remember Ozzie Smith being on the show once.

I watched and thought it was great. I haven't heard of or mentioned that show in at least 15 years! Too bad today's players won't do anything like that. I think it would be good for baseball given the the right host.

No. My parents both hated sports. We weren't allowed to watch them at home. So, I watched at my best friends house, she was a Cubs fan, this is what turned me to the Sox. In case you were wondering.
