The us only contribute 6% of the force in Europe. I think the world should thank Britain and Russia for the Nazi Defeat.
If there was a congratulatory line contries were to stand in for defeating the nazis america would be third in line.

1st for defeating the Japanese

Dear smart E

The US only "helps out" weaker countries if it's own interests are affected.
Vietnam for example. The people had infact democratically elected a communist party to power. But, "Oh no, can't have that" was the US govt response and tried to re-install a corrupt prince. Oops, opened a whole can of worms there.

Iraq, well we all know thats really about oil.

And as regards saving Europe from the nazis, well quite a large proportion of you wanted to get involved in 1939, two years before you actually did. Unfortunately it was on the side of the Germans (bet you don't learn that in school)

As for your comment about Britain speaking German if the US hadn't got involved, I point you in the direction of the failure of "Operation Sealion", Hitlers plan to invade. Heard of The Battle of Britain?
And if you want to get really picky, if it wasn't for we British you'd all be speaking French. Or Spanish.

hmmm... when the US came in, France was occupied, hitler was deep in russia, and england was getting bombed into oblivion. 2 years later, the war was over. and the us was never even attacked by germany (though hitler did declare the US an enemy), we could have stayed out of it if we wanted. but whatever, think what you want.

there are always enemies. if the US stepped down, somebody else would step up because there would be rogue countries starting crap left and right. and like you said, "War is Peace." if you eliminate rogue nations, there are less people starting stuff. similar to the roman doctorine of pax romana, defeat all of your enemies so everyone is your friend.

They aren't at war with anyone for two reasons. First, they have nothing that anyone wants. That's not to say they're not great folks, but come on. Secondly, they have no military to speak of because the U.S. is protecting them. We're at war because, like it or not, the U.S. is the world's police force.

As to your other point, the U.S. my have been 6% of the force, but they accounted for a far greater percentage of the success. Without that six percent, Russia, Britain and France would definitely be speaking German right now. Then, there was a reason that Eisenhower was the supreme allied commander. Not bad for a six percenter, huh?

You've got facts, my friend, but you don't know what they mean or what to do with them. That's the weakness in your 'thinking'.

Now go put your burka back on and let the men talk. I've been very tolerant of you so far.

And what a 6% it was. After wrapping up hitlers army all nice and neat and shoving them all back towards Berlin Patton was told to hold up so the ineffectual Brits could take the city and regain a little pride. Maybe you meant the N. Africa campaign... Oh wait no that was American's too. Well, guess your wrong about that 3rd thing.

As for Holland. Of course it's a wonderful free country. It requires no responsibility of it's citizens and takes no responsibility on the world stage.

If it weren't for the US "warring" with Nazi Germany, Holland would be under a fascist regime now.

The US fights a lot of battles for weaker countries, protecting their democracy.

Anti Americans acrtoss the world tend to ignore this fact.

You are confused. Freedom is not anarchy, and freedom is not war.

The reason Holland enjoys their freedom today is because the US got into a war it did not have to fight.
