You have a great point...for such an "idiot", they sure give him credit for pulling off things which would take a high level of intelligence.
Of course, they will claim that he is a puppet, but you still have to have a level of intelligence to pull off all of what they claim this admin has done.
Stephie Ann...your response shows your ignorance. They would not claim that they were duped by him openly. Their comments say it for them.

Bush used the same intellegence that congress saw, and that Clinton (bill) and Gore saw in 1998 when THEY advocated going into Iraq. True, Obama was against going into Iraq, but he also said in 2007 that he saw no advantage in surging the troops, and all his advisors say a surge would not help in the least. Obviously he was wrong, so he is capable of being wrong, and if ALL his advisors were wrong, do i trust them? no. The fact on Iraq is this. Agree or disagree on whether we should be there and that is fine. But the FACT is, we are there, and we need to finish. Whining about "we shouldn't have gone it" doesn't help the situation now. Deal with the situation as is, don't be a monday morning quarterback. We are there, we need to win, as pulling out and thus surrendering will do more lasting harm than anything McCain has advocated. Facts are sometimes unpleasent, but they remain facts.

This is an easy out for Democrats. They govern by polls. So when the American people were in favor of this war they sided with the president. When they saw Americans falling out of favor with the war they say we were duped. We were lied to. We voted for the war before we voted against it. Democrats need to start governing by convictions and their values. You don't see Kennedy twisting in the wind. But Hillary, Kerry, Edwards, all these presidential hopefuls govern by the latest N.Y. Times poll.

They are all one Aristocracy. They intermarry, thier children go to the same exclusive schools, they and the Washington Press go to the same cocktail party's .
They probably get a real kick out of how the commoners think there is really a difference. The vote on this last wire tap bill proved two things;
That there are no Conservatives left in the Republican Party
That the Democrats are actually Republicans

They didn't know how dumb Bush was at the time. Bush was duped by his own people first, and then he took that info to Congress. So the Democrats were actually duped by Bush's cronies (Cheney, etc.) who were using Bush as their stooge.
I'm only half joking.

I don't know any Democrat who ever claimed such a thing. I'm a very liberal person, I grew up in a very liberal home, and I went to a very liberal University, and not one person, who identifies as a Democrat, have said they were "duped" by him, or even came close to voting for him. I don't know where you've heard any Democrat say this.

It doesn't mean that they themselves are also oblivious to their surroundings, but were either desperate, or naive in such a strenous situation.

Honestly deceived. They were at the mercy of bad information from not merely Bush, but the rest of his Adminstration, including "Slam Dunk" Tenet.
If you want to disparage the Democrats, you'll have to do better than this.
