I am sure he wasn't born in the U.S., because he just became a U.S. citizen a few years ago. Yes, Manny does know English very well, and he talks alot. The problem is that he isn't the smartest person, so when he does say things, he often makes himself look bad, so I think the Red Sox try to keep his talking to the public to a minimum. If you watch the red sox regularly like me, you would know that he does talk alot in the clubhouse, and he is very much the clown that every club house needs. Manny hits the ball, and that is what he is paid to do, so I don't mind if I don't see him on ESPN, besides the only people on ESPN these days either have steroids controversies, or they just got banned from the NFL. He is just Manny being Manny baby!

Manny has chosen to not talk to the media. In the past, because of his not so great english, he has been misunderstood and he sometimes says goofy stuff (manny being manny) and the Boston media jumps all over that, so he has chosen not to talk to them. Sometimes, like when Kevin Millar in 2004 set up an interview, he will talk with Kevin around. You can tell how painstaking it is for him to talk. It's like he is so shy and stuff, but he is truly a cool cat. He is joker on the bench and really loves his teammates. I don't think you would find anyone complain about Manny. Boston is a tough market in relation to the media and a lot of pro sport players choose not to talk to the media because of it. I really think Manny has matured a lot, always hustling now and playing really good defense. He is still quirky as you can see him talking to the fans in left field and goofing with his buds in the dugout. It's just manny being manny.

As an prolonged term purple Sox fan I delight in the certainly undeniable actuality that he grew to become serious to 3 championships. I see the mid-summer season time fiasco as his way of undoing the two years of suggestions on his settlement. There somewhat could be relatively some intrigue with a Sox-Dodgers international sequence, with Manny and Torre, yet I in trouble-free words found out when I reported the in trouble-free words proper indoors the NLCS that i think of that the Sox have the extra beneficial smart possibility of beating the Phillies. despite if, i'd decide to truly face the Dodgers. that could be a thank you to exorcise relatively some undesirable stuff. My answer isn't very sparkling right here, yet i admire Manny, he's between the magnificent hitters of his era. he's in trouble-free words no longer continuously the magnificent teammmate to have.

Yes he speaks, that was why he was ejected from last night's Angels-Red Sox game. Actually when he signed his contract with the Red Sox, ESPN did a feature on him and he did some speaking along with his Agent

It has been predicted that, when Manny has his day in Cooperstown, he will deliver the shortest acceptance speech in Hall history.

I expect that is correct.
