at the back of the lock is the actual ignition switch and wiring-it is screwed to the base of the lock and barrel and key-it will be knackered-replace it--it is a white or blackplastic cylinder attached to the end of the key barrel-it has 6 to 10 wires coming off it to a plug,that goes to the main loom

Had the same thing happen with my 70' camaro. The ignition cylinder was severely worn out (in the column). Hell, I could even pull the key out with the car running. I'd start there...

No, in case you by danger placed it in opposite whilst going forward with engine working you are able to injury it. My grandson replaced into 3 and sitting interior the seat beside me. i replaced into doing approximately 40 5 and he reached up and pushed the kit lever into revers. Boy did we come to a surprising end. couple weeks later opposite went out.
