Why are you in the Baseball category asking or answering questions if you think Baseball sucks? Try another category for something that you like then.

Also, the teams may be from American cities, but the players represent many countries all over the world. Look at all of the players from Japan, Dominican Republic, China, etc. all playing here. There is baseball in their countries, but the best of the best come here to play and that is why it is the World Series.

Why do they call it the World Cup? They don't PLAY in a Cup. They don't WIN a Cup, it is a TROPHY. Besides Futbol sucks. The NHL gets it right. They call it the Stanley Cup playoffs and you WIN the Stanley Cup(well technically you get to keep it over the summer and have your names etched in it). Even the NBA Championship has the correct name.
The World Series includes the best players from around the World for the most part. Not saying they all come to the U.S. and play in MLB but MOST do. It also COULD include a Canadian team, at least until they move Toronto into the U.S.

Just to prove how dumb you are, try counting the number of foreign players in the MLB. Then try counting the number of American players. I guarantee, that their are more foreign players, and that most countries in the world are represented. It is called the World Series, because the best players in the world are competing for it. I don't know if you noticed, but the MLB is the best baseball league in the world, that is why players come here to play from other countries. Do some research before asking hate filled questions that make you look bad.

It's called the WORLD SERIES because MLB is the best baseball league in the WORLD. Name a baseball league in the world that is better than MLB. You won't find one. Why do you think players come from all over the WORLD to play in it? Also, I seem to recall a team from Canada winning back to back World Series in 1992 and 1993.

The best players in the world including South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America play in Major League Baseball. MLB therefore represents the best players in the world and due to that fact, the term "World Series" is accurate.

Baseball more than any of the other major American sports is an international game. More baseball players are from other countries than the players from the other sports. I have no problem with it being called the world series!

Perhaps not the original intent - but do you realize how many people playing baseball were not born in the U.S.? I think the title is fitting for that reason alone! Not to mention, there are some Canadian teams in MLB.

Its called it because when it was launched the Americans named it the World Championship Series believing it to be the World championship of Baseball and later shortened it to just the World series
