What makes you think the planet needs saving? The planet has been here for billions of years and I promise you it will be here for billions of years to come. No action any human can do can truly affect the planet. Now, if you are concerned with LIFE on earth, then it is a different story. While by some interpretations, humanity can be considered a plague across the globe, it does have one advantage over similar viral infections: we can reason.
So, if you have to cull someone, start with those who think having 10+ kids is a good thing, or those that think that we must continually expand and grow to survive.
Oh, and get rid of the Dutch, while you are at it.

well, not killed outright, but there are far too many people on the planet, taking up too much space, too many resources, and so on. Too many people is not just bad for the environment, it's also bad for humans, as places like India which are so densly populated end up poor, with too many people, too many diseases easily spread because of the way people are packed together, and not the infrastructure to deal with them all.
First should be the people who offer nothing to society: the criminals, those who could work, but choose to sap off the state instead, and rely on other people for money and housing.
Also, in countries with a high population density, their should be a scheme like that in China introduced, where people can only have a certain number of children, or face financial penalties, or even a jail sentance. People whose children are 75% or more likely to inherit a deadly disease, or one that gives them a severe disability, as it is unfair for these children with the conditions, and puts the health services under even more strain. Also, there are plenty of good children (not the naughty ones you always hear about) who would be glad to be adopted into a caring home.
I think that an innicial cull should be followed by a series of policies that reduce the number of children people have, as we couldn't just kill loads of people, unless they were criminals, or took away from society, instead of adding to it. Obviously, though, i would rather we didn't have to kill people, and just introduced better healthcare, and people stopped having so many kids.

Go read Malthus. You'll see that eventually, we'll end up culling ourselves...one way or another. So, there's no need to worry about it too much, it's gonna happen.
Otherwise, I'll go with Shakespeare and say, "First, kill all the lawyers". There are just WAY too many of them on this planet.

There is a great assumption in this question... that the earth is actually in need of "saving". And if you buy into the alarmist environmental neo-communist's philosophy that the average human is a destructive blight on the planet, and the earth is as fragile as these cooks would like you to believe.
Also, one must thank the drive-by liberal media, bad science and Al Gore for the propagation of such fallacies.

Tempted to give you my hate list, I will refrain and say I think population adjustment is happening, it just takes time. People live easily to 90 these days so you really need to plan 90 years in advance. It comes down to an equation ave life expectancy divided by average educational effect times a multiplier. Review once every five years and find a trend.

Humans have been culling one another ever since our ancestors began walking upright. Animals protect their territiry to conserve vital resources. The same thing is going on today, but nations wage war for things like energy and slave labor. The first to die are the ones with inferior weapons. Human intelligence is probably the result of millions of years of an intellectual arms race.

I think it should be all the idiots who answer forum questions all day (yes I include myself). Isn't there something else we could do, something more productive, If not then yes, we should be culled.
