It is killing the USA, thats for certian. We are no longer allowed to say muslims attacked America on 911, because thats not politically correct. We have to say hijackers or terrorists. Even though all of the terrorists were muslims and the majority of muslim nations supported the attack.

"Political Correctness" is nothing more than censorship on free speech, and if people don't stand up against it, it WILL kill the freedoms we enjoy in the U. S.

Where does it say in the Constitution that people have a right to be protected against being offended by someone else's speech? If you don't like what someone is saying, DON'T listen! Don't take 'em to court because it made you cry!

"Hate" crimes are an offshoot of political correctness. Who is to say whether one crime is a hate crime and the other is not if the same offense is committed, only one crime is against a white man and the other crime is against a minority or a queer?

What? You don't like that word? Then call the "political correctness" squad of the "hate crime" police! I don't give a Scheist!

I think it's a good idea to make an effort not to be offensive. Especially if you're a business - no one wants to give business to someone who pisses them off. That having been said, it's still a CHOICE to avoid offending people. After all, we still have this little thing called freedom of speech. And there are always those people who actually LOOK for a reason to be offended, so you're not going to please everyone. A reasonable effort should be made by government agencies to be tolerant, but people need to accept that, as Neal Boortz says, you are not born with the right not to be offended.

What do you mean by political correctness? I most often hear this cry when someone objects to name-calling, stereotyping or other lazy and ill-informed approaches to debate.

If you are concerned about terrorism, for example, you'll be more persuasive if you avoid terms I've seen often here, such as "ragheads" and even more offensive terms. If you are concerned about relations betwene the West and the Muslim world, you'll do better to avoid sweeping generalizations, such as "ignorant Muslims," "they all hate us," and similar unsupportable phrases. Any attempt to describe billions of people with a few perjoratives is going to be logically suspect.

So clean up your thinking, state your points logically and fairly, and you should have no problem. It's not about being "correct," it's about being reasonable.
