I always fed mine once a day, and just a pinch of food. That should be enough. Hope this helps!

I have had 2 betas for over 2 years, so I think that what I am doing is adequate. I follow the directions on the food container. I give them each 3 (three) chunks of food once a day.

I found that if I fed them more, they wouldn't eat it anyway, and their bowls would just have to be cleaned more often.

Once a day is fine, or twice a day if you prefer. You should feed only as much as your fish will eat in 2-3 minutes per feeding.

I have had Betta's for a long time and if you have the food pellets feed them about 4 pellets twice a day. If you have flakes feed them a small pinch twice a day. If you know your fish well you can tell when its hungry. Elvis (my current Betta) will swim up to the glass on his bowl and puff up like he is ready to fight, when he is hungry.

Just about a pinch in your fingers should do the trick. And once a day is good. :)
