Well, the Cubs have been coming on strong lately and the Brewers have been slumping. However, Soriano may miss
2-4 weeks. Even if the Cubs when the Division, can the Brewers make the Wild Card? The Dodgers and Padres are in it, not to mention the Braves and Phillies. If the Brewers can go back to playing pre-All-Star break, they just might be able to get back in this.

It is really up in the air at this time. I believe the Cubs have a better team and I am picking them to win the division. I don't believe that either the Brewers or Cubs will have a better won/lost record than the eventual wild card winner that will come from the East or West division. That would mean that the Brewers would have to beat the Cubs and win the division to go to the playoffs, and I don't think that will happen.

I don't think they'll get the division. The Cubs are too good. I think the Wildcard will be a toss up between them and the Braves. Unfortunately I'm leaning towards Atlanta at this point. They're well balanced with a lot of firepower and the Brewers are awfully young. Look out for the Brewers over the next couple years though if they keep their key players around though. They really are building something great over there.

The Cubs will win the division. Soriano is out yes, but they still have Lee and Rameriz. Soriano is an all around player, but he strikes out a lot with runners on base. Besides the Cubs are playing better ball as of late, and I know both teams are struggling right now. Brewers have a lot of young talent, and will be good for years to come, but the Cubs have more experience and will take the division. I believe both teams will turn it around and start winning, so I say Cubs win division, and Brewers win the wild card. I'm from IL but I love going to the Brewer stadium to watch Cubs Brewers games.

Yeah, I do. The Cubs won't catch 'em without Soriano (gone til Labor Day or longer). Sheets should be coming back for the Brewers soon. Combining adequate starting pitching and bullpen and a strong young offensive club should be enough to hold off the Cubs without Soriano.
PS The Cardinals aren't gonna do it this year.

i do think they have a chance of making the playoffs, but it would have to be in the division. there are some stronger teams out in the national league. right now they're in first place ahead of the cubs and it will probably go back in forth for first place. the brewers will finish on top.

With Soriano being out for at least one month, there chances just increased to basically %100 winning the division. I don't see the cubs without their best offensive player keeping this up.

The brewers just need to settle down a little and rely on their stengths.

They'll win the division. They are the real deal. Like Seattle and Cleveland this year, they are a team that should have done well last year and just didn't quite gel. The only team to worry about in this division are the Brewers themselves. If they don't beat themselves, they'll win it.

If the Brewers make the play-offs, it will be via the wild card. Cubbies have a veteran team and Lou Pinella.
