2004 Murano with 50,000 mi. It makes a warping sound(sorta like wah, wah, wah,). The noise isn't loud when going straight and is not there when steering left, but is loudest when steering right. I thought bad rotors. Went to a mechanic and we took it for a ride. Mechanic did hear the sound. He swerved the car left then right a few times and he noticed the sound being louder when steering right. He felt that it was bad hub bearings. Back at the garage, raising the car while another mechanic sat inside. We were both under the car while the guy in the car pressed the gas with the car in Drive. The guy with me put a long screw driver against the left hub bearing wall and listened then did it to the right. He had me do the same. The sound in the left hub bearing sounded like a running faucet, while the sound on the right hub bearing was louder, also like a faucet but at full pressure. Does this all sound like a bad hub bearing? And what causes bad hub bearings?

Yup sounds like it. Lack of grease is one thing, also bad seals and water getting in is another.

yes the bearing is bad the cause is normal ware and tare the bearing is sealed and cannot be re greased
causes maby when drive axle was serviced some dirt got in
maby you drive on long fast turnes causing extra pressure on the sides of the bearings or
maby the bearing was weak
or the alingment could be out a little but you would notice tire ware with that
either way replace it and start enjoying youre ride agin
its a hub assembally it comes with the hub and spindal etc

No, i could in simple terms say it grew to become into its' time. If the wheel grew to become into out of stability this could expedite the bearings' dying yet i could additionally assume you to sense that. The bearing is certainly shielded from any sort of abuse because of the fact it could see this on a each day foundation on the line. i've got considered many factors bypass up (or be observed) in the shop, water pumps, alternators. This all mentioned to inform you even placement of the raise does no longer have harm the bearing.

Lack of grease
poor alignment
loose tire - lugnuts

another easy way to tell is to put it on a lift and try to move the rim/tire up and down - if it is the wheel bearing it will move and you will hear it.
