Small claims court to get court order.
You might want to talk to a lawyer or a law clerk/paralegal (cheaper) to get some advice and direction.
It really all depends on the laws where you live.

Call or go to the county courthouse and ask if you can file a mechanic's lien. A mechanic's lien is when you don't get paid for work completed but I'm not sure if you have to be a contractor or if you can be an employee. Someone at the courthouse should know if you can file one or not.

Generally you won't have to do that. You first need to file a complaint with your State's Labor Board as well as the US Department of Labor. In nearly all cases that will be enough to get you money in your hands.

You have to get a judgement first.
However, the law requires you to go through the Labor Board and exhaust your resources there first.
