Hi and good morning....I imagine that Rev. Jesse Jackson was a 'good man' at one time when he first started with MLK. But time has changed and with time the 'ego's' have risen to where he isn't the same man as he use to be regarding 'equal rights'. He's in now more for the public spotlight than anything. I never have liked Al Sharpton because of his so-called views and a manipulator and one that likes to keep racial issues started but with no good resolution. He out there for the sole purpose of making his name out in the public. He really doesn't care about the equal rights, maybe for himself but as to anyone else....Not! Have a great day!

Please let me rephrase your question: Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Hitler.
Do you think they're doing a good job fighting for equal rights and racial Superiority or do you think they're just doing everything they can to keep their names in the public spotlight and silence anybody that doesn't like them by an means necessary?

I think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the jokes of the black community. Maybe when they first started out the dynamics of fighting for equal rights was different, but they are no longer the voice of what the black community thinks. The causes that they stand up for are some of the most ignorant things I have seen. If you're going to stand up for someone, stand up because they are good people and got a raw deal. Don't stand up for criminals, idiots, and overall bad people in the name of the black community, because not only do you make an entire race of people look like circus freaks and media hogs, but you make a whole race of people bitter because they are so-called speaking for us in words we don't even agree with. I really wish people would stop referring to Jesse Jackson and Al sharpton as our black leaders, because they are not.

They make situations more than what they are. They aren't for equal rights, to hear them talk we are still living in days when people were slaves. My grandmother was a Native & natives were treated horribly (but you don't see Natives on national news). They just love to stir trouble and make everything a "race" issue. No one should give them the time of day. There are better people out there that could be chosen to be a voice, one that constantly doesn't say that everything another race is doing is a form of being racist and how everyone, except for them because they're perfect, needs to change.

I think that's fine for them to fight for equal rights, because in some areas or circumstances minorities are still discriminated against. And it may have to do with ego too. But sometimes it seems to me that Jackson/Sharpton fight so much that it becomes counter-productive and create a backlash. They take one step forward, but two steps back.
Plus they don't always seem to be consistent. If a black person is the victim, they understandably are all over the suspect(s). But if a white person is the victim, they seem to fade into the woodwork, and you don't hear a peep out of them.

I don't know everything about all that they do,but one of the things I agree with is the march on decency about some of the lyrics in the albums.I believe in free speech but some people just need to be aware of what they say and how it affects the people. In all I think they are doing a good job because they are doing something.Sometimes people get misunderstood. There should be a group of people from different ethnic backgrounds to talk of ways to improve race relations and fight injustice.I don't agree with special treatment for any particular group.I hope this was of help.

When has Jackson and Sharpton ever show up when other colored people not black get killed? Or when have they ever show up when the suspect is black and the victim is other colors?
Both are nothing but whores trying to keep other blacks who believes them from rising above poverty. Where did both go to receive their Reverend status? Never hear them or media talking about it.
If they really care about race issues, they would show up to non black issues too. But they never will because they are racist themselves. To them black is the only race being kept down, but what they don't realize is that blacks are being kept down by Jackson and Sharpton with their stupid rhetoric.
The stupid media still try to keep both in the camera because the medias want to keep race issues going, so they have more useless news to talk about.

I think they stir the pot more than anything....especially Al Sharpton. Sometime there is no issue; but they have to find one and keep the hatred burning. While racism and discrimination do still exist....It is propaganda that is dividing this country daily!

Two clowns trying to keep their names in the news. Sharpton is the more ridiculous of the two.

I think some things they do are good. But for the most part they are separating us as black people even more from other races. So as far as people treating us equally, they are making it more difficult.
