These terms are almost interchangable. The forecastle ( also pronounced "folk sl") usually refers to the fore deck area at the bow but can also refer to below deck stowage or crew accomodations located before the mast. The forepeak refers almost specifically to the V-berth area of a boat.

The fore peak is the bow. The forecastle is the area adjacent to that, usually the forward berthing area.

good answers! usually, on merchant ships, the forepeak is the name for the ballast tank located at the forward part of the ship. the focs'l,e is the usualy considered the general area of the bow of the ship, where winches are, windlass, bosn's stores, and the soudning pipe for the forepeak tank! good luck!

Fore peak is the most forward point of the bow. Fore castle is when it has a superstructure on the bow.Steering helm.
