hi... i'm 15 and i'm a dancer... first of all age doesn't matter with dancing... second, you'll just have to know what you want. in choosing your dance style, it depends about what you want to listen to or to do.. most people prefer to dance hip hop or any funky type of dancing. still it's mostly seen upon the teenage ones. what do you want to learn? fast or slow moves. remember, there are really big differences on it. fast moves exert more power to be able to produce sleek moves. slow ones will require concentration for the gracefulness and beauty of your moves. still both are very exciting to learn. just always keep in mind that it's a part of your discipline. be careful with cramps and bumps surely with begginers it will really hurt a little. just more practice and you'll learn it.

those are just explanations for you to choose. my suggestion, "anything that you like", as long as it makes you happy and healthy. more dance moves you learn, the more fun it is to dance! hope it helped you although i'm just 15.

First, find a dance studio that has adult classes. Most of the time they will have jazz and tap, possibly ballet. If you are unsure of what class you want to take, the instructor will probably let you do a class to see which one you like. Now, remember, this is your first time dancing, so everything will be new and awkard for you. Don't worry. There are other adults in the class in the same boat. No one is going to laugh. Everyone will be too scared of making a mistake to laugh. Most classes start with warm-ups (stretches), some practice moves at the barre, and then something across the floor. The teacher knows the adults are there for exercise, strengthening and enrichment. The classes won't be too hard and you'll be able to feel better after a while.

What is the grooviest and coolest dance to learn? Any dance that you can do that others can't! Just have fun!

Have you considered Ballroom and/or Latin? 21 is a good age to start it, meaning you have a great chance of getting very very good at it. An extra pound here and there won't be a problem either.
Nobody will laugh at you in any adult dance class.

I love the fact that you have enthusiam to start dancing if i could say one thing to you it would be:
You are never to old to do anything!!
I would base the style of dancing you do on the kind of music you listen to as then you can practice along to your songs when you get home, nobody can tell you what type you should, thats up to you, but i can asure you that you will be looked up to rather than laughed at!
Best of luck xx

Ya'll are never to old for anything I believe if ya'll set your mind to something it will always work. So I would aply to hip-hop or acro accutally my I know someone in collage for dance. Take any class ya'll want. But dont just do it because it looks cool. If your heart feels its a great sport. Make it a goal.

i highly recommend modern to start with. i started at that age (but i had been doing hip-hop) when i was 21-22ish. it allows you to work with what your natural movement is. it's still rough on the body like every other type of dance but it will give you some ballet and jazz at the same time. so you can decide from that point.

Like many say, you should try out Salsa. Its one of the most popular styles. Not that hard and enjoyable.
And no, you're definitely not too old for dancing.
Nobody's gonna laugh at you either.

Whichever form of dancing intrests you! And something you feel you might have such a lot a laugh at, and something fits your type. You can continually upload different dance forms as good. I like ballet, ultra-modern and jazz, for my part.

i would suggest that you start jazz. it is the easiest to pick up, and you are too old to start from scratch and become a proffesional. if you want real dance, i suggest that you try jazz. if you want something you can like, show off at parties, etc... id sugest hip hop, its pretty easy to pick up, or a dance aerobic class etc.

you can dance to any kind of music you will often find that dance moves are applyed to more than just one kind of dancing, dance to your fav music its a place to start, then expand to more, theres people as old as 60 taking dance lessons so age is not important
