I will be meeting friends in Las Vegas the end of Sept and we want to take a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon. Can you recommend the best tour/company to go with?

Thanks
Julie

"The best helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon"

IMO
#1 - Maverick
#2 - Papillon

for more tours & links to each
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/activities.cfm >Click "tours" then Grand Canyon

In the free LV magaiznes such as "What's On" & "Today in Las Vegas" you will find discount coupons for many tours, including those to the Grand Canyon.

You can get an airplane tour of the GC usually for around $120. Helicopter tours generally begin at a little over $200

Julie, There are literally dozens of operations doing this. You need a good connection for a deal and I just don't have one at the present time. Try this web site they seem to have it together better than most and offer some exclusives that the other companies don't. And the price is right. If you are anywhere close to being a high roller ask the concierge for a bump and you will probably get the trip for free. Good luck

Papillion is a bit pricey but has a good reputation.

By far one of the best companies hands down for helicopter tours. I'd explain my source but it's a secret. You'll have to e-mail me for that. =) Now, the only other course of action is to decide whether you want a helicopter landing on the canyon floor at the West Rim or an aerial tour over the North/South Rims.

Definitely papillion (spelling?). Best price around, great pilots, great customer service, try the celebration tour with landing in the canyon and having a champagne lunch. Book online for a better price. There was a mix up where we missed our shuttle and they rebooked us for later that day for a more expensive tour with no extra charge. They are great.

Try http:showtickets.com which was recently purchased by Travelocity it's one stop shopping for all of your Las Vegas travel needs. (hotel, airfare, show tickets and tours) But, I suggest calling the different vendors hotel, airline etc and find out if they do price matching. There are less hidden fees when you cut out the middle man.
