He is going to the Hall of Fame, but I think all the Yankees teams that won the world series would have still won all those years without him.

Of course, Derek Jeter is going to the Hall. He is a stellar shortstop and his offense has improved each year. Sure, The Yankees probably would have won those rings without him, but they got there because of him. Let's not forget that crazy shuffle throw to home to stop Oakland. He may not be the best shortstop in baseball anymore but he IS the most important!!! He will be a first ballot, overwhelming electee!!

To be named the Yankee Captain is a great honor that has only been bestowed upon a few. He is a great leader and a great player. He may not be the best Shortstop but he is one of the top 5 in the game. His ability to make the impossible play has endeared him to Yankee Fans. His ability to get the clutch hit in the postseason has him poised to go into the Hall of Fame.

He's a great leader, a great teammate, and he's got his Turn 2 Foundation which helps keeps kids off the streets and away from drugs and alcohol. Of course he's going to the HOF, they already have a spot waiting for him.

He will, without a doubt, be inducted on the first ballot. He is the epitomy of a true Yankee, excellent player, leader and role model.
