6 - 8 weeks before your due date (32 - 34 weeks pregnant) is the ideal time for a baby shower. This gives you plenty of time to make any returns or exchanges you might need to make, get everything washed and put away before baby arrives, and also to make any final purchases you might need to. You don't want to wait too much longer than that, as babies have a way of showing up early!

I would say about 1 1/2 - 2 months before the due date. In my case, I almost ended up having the baby before the shower... lol - so you want to leave time in case baby comes early, and also time for shopping for any items you will still need after the shower.

Whenever it is convenient for you and whomever is giving the shower. The closer to your due date is best, but not so close that you don't have time to go get the things you did not get as a gift. One other thing most new moms are not aware of is...in most states they have a tax free weekend. Ours here in Texas is Aug17-19. Diapers are tax free here. So stock up. If you buy at Walmart...you can get a few packages of each size. If you don't need a particular size, as long as they are unopened, take them back and upgrade to the next. Its very easy and a great way to save some big bucks...Also don't forget to look for coupons on Ebay.

12 to 8 weeks before.. so the mom to be has time to get things washed and put away. Send invites 3-4 weeks ahead of time so the shower isnt forgotten. You can start by word of mouth so they have the date free.

About 32-36 weeks is the normal range. This way its before mum-2-b gets too tired to want one or baby arrives early!
Make sure she doesn't have to do anything! Decorate a 'queen for a day' (comfortable) chair and make her sit in it and not do anything! (well let her get up if she needs to stretch her legs)

usually the 8th month that way there is no chance of the mother going into labor the day of the shower (like my sister in law did)

Usually it's the persons friends or family that throw the party. I have seen it usually anywhere between 4-8 months, but its usually the party hosts perogative.
