I would go for a re-case, to widen the choice of card.

Remember that Dell have a nasty habit of making their hardware bespoke (i.e. it is custom built to their specification) specifically to prevent owners using non-Dell hardware upgrades, so make sure your new case will take the motherboard from the old on.

There are plenty of great Low Profile graphics cards out there to choose from. Some cards even come with the proper backing to use as either. I would recommend this route as it is easier than recasing.

You may have luck recasing it into the case of a standard 5150, but that may not be the case. Whenever you buy hardware from a company you usually have to get pieces from that company and are locked in (with the exception of processor, RAM and Video card).

ThusI must recommend just getting a low profile video card.

Go for a nice new big case, or do what it did and get the dremel out, or the drill with a steel cutting bit.

Remove all the parts inside, and cut a big hole in the hard drive enclosure....

Worked for me, my micro ATX and my 8800 GTX.

buy a new case because there cheep enough and it will also give your computer a better air flow through out the system which means cooler plus it will most likely come with a new power supply which may be higher in watts which will also be good....
