is it because they try to buy "mercy" from the anti-corporatist policies of the democrats? I mean, who would want to vote to tax and regulate themselves more? and why do rich democrats try so desperately to reduce their income taxes? why do they ban unions in their own businesses? could walmart actually be a liberal company?

Apparently such corporations think it is in their own best interest for liberals to be in power. I can think of reasons why, none that apply universally.

Liberal policies (including some pursued by Republicans) are inflationary. A company with a large debt load would be better off if inflation reduced their debt in real dollar terms, just like the government is doing with the National Debt. Minimum wage hikes don't bother McDonald's, they just raise the price of a hamburger and go on with business as usual.

Liberal policies restricting energy keeps the supply down and prices high, so energy companies might prefer liberal government.

Transportation companies benefit from the barriers to entry for startup companies, keeping their competition down. Railroads, airlines, and shipbuilders, for examples.

Insurance, real estate, and financial companies benefit from there being a labyrinthe of laws regulating their industries, which generally work to keep their customers from becoming potential plaintiffs. All they have to do is hire a few lawyers to keep on top of the minutiae in the law and they know precisely what they can get away with.

Government contracts based on minority status or political pull rather than merit and results is obvious, too.

I could go on, but it all amounts to the same thing. Big companies not only can protect themselves with lawyers from anything the government does short of outright nationalization, they can use the very laws intended to bind them as weapons against competitors or even consumers.

Most democrats in this day and age are no longer 'anti-corporation'. 9 of the top 10 richest politicians in Washington are Democrats. Where do you think they got their money?

The big corporations contribute to both parties, that way they win either way.

Alot of democrats (not all) pay lip service to the average worker, and then support the corporations at voting time.
At least the republicans are honest in their greedy support of the capitalist machine.

Because Democrats support illegal aliens. Simple.

If corporations can line their pockets by lowering wages, not paying taxes for undocumented workers or provide employee benefits, they make out like bandits.

These same corporations are supporting the democratic presidential candidates.
