I am an African American who could pass to be Arab. I have been told by middle eastern people that I look like them( mostly saudi arabian) my american friends tell me that it won't be safe for me to go to Israel because I look Arab, and most likely I will have trouble getting OUT of the country,but I will be fine fetting in. If anyone could help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

There are plenty of Arabs who live in Israel. They enjoy full rights and are much better off than the Arabs who live in adjacent countries.

Going into israel customs will be easy, leaving israel and entering the united states are the two spots that you will regret. Once in israel you may be treated like dirt, if you stay in the tourist-y areas you should be fine but you will get dirty looks.

It's possible that it could take longer for you to get through the border checks, but you will get through. The security is for everyone's benefit!
I have a friend who has a last name that appears to be of Arabic origin (it's not). It always takes longer for her to pass through the inspection points.
I also have a Hispanic friend who could be mistaken as an Arab. He is always prepared for a longer inspection process.
Be patient -- everyone feels more secure Knowing that security measures are so tight.

Have your American passport on you and speak English and you will be fine.
I have plenty of friends that look very Arab (full beard and everything) and they had few problems spending months in Israel.

Loads of Jewish Israelis came from Arab countries and look like Arabs. Plus, Ethiopian Jews look like any other people from Ethiopia. Israel is a true melting pot.

There are plenty of Palestinians and Arabs working in Israel. Don't think your friends know much about airport immigration procedures!

Nicole, where do you read such nonsense? because you are black means so little to anyone, Israel would welcome you with open arms and send you off feeling great! your friends from the USA ? have they been? i highly doubt it. can you imagine walking in areas from biblical times? its a unreal feeling, go and enjoy yourself!

what the hell is wrong with you young lady why would u wanna go to a place where both side despise you both the arabs and the isreali's. on top of that its very dangerous and unpredictable. maybe you should go to europe or africa instead much more diverse and you wont have to worry about getting blown up or beheaded
