"The highest officially recorded number of children born to one mother is 69, to the first wife of Feodor Vassilyev** (1707-1782) of Shuya, Russia. Between 1725 and 1765, in a total of 27 confinements, she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets, and four sets of quadruplets. 67 of them survived infancy."

Ramses II had a great many, but I believe the most are from the Ottoman Emperors from about the 16th to maybe mid 18th centuries. They literally had harems of wives, some reported to be in excess of a hundred. I'm fairly sure that some of them managed to have literally hundreds of children.

Ramesses the Great of Egypt supposedly had over one hundred children, but he had several wives. Five or six, I think.
It's easier for a man to have a lot of children, so this isn't as impressive as that lady with 67 the last poster talked about.
