I know it's not a word, but I like to use it alot anyway. If I were to put it in a sentence as "a lot", many people wouldn't know what I was saying. I could park in a lot, or I like him alot; that's the only way most people use it. Just get over it and say to yourself that it's slang for a lot, much or most. Neither is can't or ain't or maybe it's cannot. Not everyone is perfect with their language or even punctuation for that matter.

ALOT of people don't realize ALOT is really A LOT. However, ALOT of them really don't care A LOT either.

i didn't know about it until this summer when i attend this SAT course. haha. i been using 'alot" for so many times in my essay before. but i don't even think my teacher noticed that.
