Yeah it's normal.
It's not that addictive - cigarrettes are more harmful and addictive.
I used to smoke it occasionaly, but don't recently because I can't be bothered and don't want to waste money buying it.

no everyone don't smoke pot but alot do or have tryed it. I see where some say it isnt addictive but for some people is seems to be cause they think they have t o have it everyday and want to stay high all the time . when the buzz starts to wear off they smoke them some more. After using for a period of time I have seen it make people forgetful and lazy.. Some can't get jobs cause they can't pass a drug test and wont stop smoking it so... therefore, I would advise not smoking it, if u like it alot u will most likly become a regular user. However, I'd rather see someone smoke pot as to drink. However, it is known to be a gateway drug. some stop at pot but lots of others go on to bigger things. Jess made some good point..I'd listen to her!!

It is "normal" in the sense that everyone is doing it - so I guess the word is "common" rather than "normal"
The people who smoke pot will say that it is ok, but they do not have to deal with those whose brain has been damaged by it not the people who are now livnig with mental health problems or else they are NOT (yet) the victiim of crime committed by those using these substances.
When you are a victim - then you will see the negative influence smoking pot does to you.

Well, I tried it 3 times and the side effects really sucked. The droopy eyes, the munchies, and the cotton mouth totally bugged. So the benefits were negated by the downsides (for me).
As for thinking less of people who use it...don't do that. This is not the kind of drug that addicts. You're not going to pawn your mom's jewelry or rob a bank just to get weed. However you may eat all the cheetos and hog the remote control while you are being a couch potato.

It's almost impossible to get addicted to pot (despite what the commercials say) and a lot of teenagers experiment with it. And it's getting more and more popular. It used to be just the hippies or the rasta kids but it's turned into a party drug so a lot of different kids are trying it. I've never done it but I'm asthmatic and I just really don't feel like sucking on an inhaler all night just so I can get high

I smoked pot as a teen. Being a responsible parent of 2 teens I have to say don't try it. You're really only missing dry mouth, crazy eating binges, laughing stupidly at stuff that's not funny, and possible jail if you're caught. In reality, just about everyone tries it once...it's pretty normal. Not physically addictive but you might get caught up in the euphoria after which subsides, you start feeling paranoid all the time. Not worth the risk. Stay in school!

i think that it is slowly becoming "normal" but this doesnt make it right. there are many teens out there that are "straight age" and don't drink, curse, or do drugs and just average joes and janes that dont do it.

and jesus! don't listen to potheads who are obviously going to give you biased information. it just came out this week that smoking 1 joint is equal to smoking 5 cigarettes (those addictive things that cause cancer). previous studies have also shown that hippie pot of our parents and grandparents from the 60s and 70s was *much* weaker than the pot that is available now. in the past few decades, growers have been cultivating their plants to obtain stronger highs. not only are they getting more addicting, but they are getting stronger and worse for you.
who would you rather trust: the phd in a lab coat or the junkie twitching and hiding in the closet?

No. Not everyone smokes pot.
Just like not everyone has sex at 15.
Personal opinion...school is tough enough without screwing yourself up more with pot, alcohol or any other drug. What you do right now, determines where you're going to end up in life. Are you going to be 30, working at McDonalds, and living with your parents? OR are you going to discover your passion and do things which make you happy?
You can't discover your passion when you numb it with drugs and booze.

Out of all the drugs I've tried-pot is the least addicting, coke & some others are the worst.

Don't do it. Go make out with a girl who's high, you'll see how disgusting it is. It's normal for teens to experiment. In my high school the best athletes all drank and smoked stuff and all that. If you want to get high, hang out with kids who get high and you start to feel high.

a lot of people do, not everyone. i myself have been for over twenty years. it is not addictive in the sense that you do not suffer from physical withdrawl symptoms if you stop, but it is psychologically addictive. i have never suffered any adverse effects to my habit, but it is important to have a structure, i.e. no smoking during the day, no smoking whilst working, driving, etc.
relatively harmless, in my experience, but like anything, can cause problems if done to excess.
