Why do some people play loud music in their cars and drive around with the windows open?

I don't understand why people do this. When I see (and hear) a man (it is usually, but not always, a man) driving around with the windows down, inflicting his (usually) ghastly music on everyone, it leads me to make a low estimate of his intelligence, attitude, and *ahem* size. Everyone I have asked feels the same. So why do people do it? Are they of such limited intelligence that they think other people *want* to listen to their noise? Or do they just not care?

You're right; they don't care. They do this because they think it will impress people or cause people to "want to be like me" attitude. I was once a teenager and thought it was cool to listen to loud music w/windows down & for people to listen. But it's not cool to make people listen to your music and it's actually quite annoying. The effect is actually quite different than intended. Young people are trying to look cool, but it's actually making them on someones "SH** List". It's not that they have limited intelligence, it's just that they are dumb & don't know any better and don't care.

im ur guy. i listen to my music w/ speakrs loud and with windows down. i dont like a/c so i just roll down windows. im a musician so i listen to music so much that i blast it and i got used to it. as for other people listening to it, im sorry. its just how i like to listen. at least i dont drive a big *** truck w/ pipes on it. theres no reason for that except compensation for a small wee wee. hope u understand were im coming from

This are lonely people trying to attract people around to make them feel better but then they just do not know how to really do it so they end up doing a thing that makes a lot of people hate them.

Yes they 100% care.
People play tunes loud with windows down to call attention to themselves.
Its just "look at me look at me look at me, I am so neato with loud music and a car"

fyi i have a device i made out of garage door opener that shorts out radios/stereos within 30meters.

They are IGNORANT, SELFISH, NIMRODS who would bad mouth anyone elses music. In Virginia it's against the law to drive with ear phones on, but it's ok to drive with your BOOM BOOM BOOM so loud you can hear it blocks away! When someone pulls up behind me on my m/c and they have their music loud, I look back, put my finger in my mouth and make puking faces. One day, those CHILDREN will have a problem with low level sound hearing problem. Then folks will make fun of ole UNCLE LAMONT who can't hear well.
Cops should ticket them as well as those wearing ear phones.

Well, it's summer, and I like to have my windows down, but as I drive, the wind is loud, so I have to turn the music up so I can hear. And when I hear a song I like, I like to turn it up. I'm sure other people don't "want" to hear it, but it's never bothered me when I've heard other people playing their music loudly. Stop being so easily annoyed. And to answer the question, no, I don't purposfully do it 'cause I think I'll look cool. I like listening to my music loud.

Forget about what you think. Maybe he likes his music loud, why do you want to spoil his fun? Just because you are not having fun. I like music loud, and no I do not care about what people think, unless I am violating some kind of noise pollution law. I will respect any law there may be.
